Who We Are

Personal Information We Collect and Why

  • Waitlist and stock emails. If you join the waitlist, we collect your name and email address to tell you when a product is in stock and, if you ticked the box, to send you emails about new equipment. If you allow it, we also see whether you open our emails and which links you click. We use Klaviyo to store these details and send these emails. Legal basis: your consent. We keep your details until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so you are not emailed again.
  • Marketing. With your permission, we may send you news and offers by email, text message or post. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Advertising. With your permission, we may show you ads on other websites and social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, based on your visits to our website and the products you look at or buy. To do this we use cookies or pixels from advertising partners such as Meta and Google. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Messages you send us. If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message, so we can answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions about our products. We keep messages as long as we need them to answer you and handle any follow-up.
  • Orders. If you place an order, we collect your name, email address, billing and delivery address, phone number, the products you order and payment details, to process and deliver your order, handle returns and withdrawals, and keep our accounts. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number. Legal basis: to perform our contract with you and to meet our legal duties. Dutch tax law requires us to keep order and invoice records for 7 years.
  • Customer accounts. If you create an account, we keep your name, email address, addresses, order history and any items you save to a wishlist. If you sign in or share through a social media account, we receive the details that service shares with us. Legal basis: to perform our contract with you. We keep account details until you close your account, apart from order records we must keep by law.
  • Reviews. If you write a review, we publish your review with the name you give. We may use a reviews provider to collect and show reviews. Legal basis: your consent. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.
  • Using the website. When you visit the website, our store platform Shopify collects technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit, to run the website, keep it secure and prevent fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Cookies

The website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, for example to remember your region and your cart. Analytics cookies, email tracking cookies (Shopify, Klaviyo) and advertising cookies or pixels (such as Meta and Google) are only used where you have given permission.

How We Share Personal Information

We only share your personal information with companies that help us run the store, and only what they need:

  • Shopify, which hosts the website and processes orders.
  • Klaviyo, which stores waitlist sign-ups and sends our emails.
  • Our payment provider, to take payment for orders.
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
  • A reviews provider, if you write a review.
  • Our bookkeeper and accounting software, to keep our accounts.
  • Advertising partners such as Meta and Google, if you allow advertising cookies.
  • Companies in our own group, if AMS PressWerks becomes part of one, and a buyer if the business is sold.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it if the law requires it, for example with the tax authorities. Shopify also processes some information for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention. To learn more, visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

International Transfers

Some of these companies store or process information outside the European Economic Area, for example in Canada or the United States. When that happens, the information is protected by an EU adequacy decision, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your Rights

  • Access. You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction and deletion. You can ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Restriction and objection. You can ask us to limit or stop how we use it.
  • Portability. You can ask for a copy in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Withdrawal of consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. To use any of these rights, email info@amspresswerks.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer within one month.

Children's Data

Our website is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use trusted providers and protect access to your personal information. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information to us by email.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we use your personal information, contact us first at info@amspresswerks.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the data protection authority in the country where you live.
