The Rudy Press Squeegee/Flood Bar Attachment

The Rudy Press is a squeegee and flood bar attachment for manual screen printing presses. It clamps to your screen and guides every flood and print stroke along the same path, at a steady angle and pressure. You get the consistency of an automatic press and keep the control of a manual one.

Why shops use it

  • The same print from the first shirt to the last. Every stroke runs on a guided path, and the flood bar loads the same amount of ink into the mesh before each pull.
  • Better opacity on whites. A steady angle and pressure make it easier to hit the right ink deposit every time, even with thick white ink.
  • Less strain on long runs. It takes on much of the physical work of the squeegee pull, so you stay fresh through the whole run.
  • New printers get up to speed faster. They don't need to learn the feel of the squeegee angle before their prints match yours.

Do I still print by hand?

Yes. You pull every print yourself. The Rudy Press guides the squeegee and flood bar along the same path at a steady angle, so each stroke matches the one before.
How does it attach?

It clamps directly to your screen frame, not to the press. Adjust it with a 5/32 in Allen key.
What's included?

The 20x24in comes with a 30 cm (12 in) squeegee, 70 durometer, and a 30 cm (12 in) winged flood bar. The 23x31in comes with a 41 cm (16 in) squeegee, 70 durometer, and a 41 cm (16 in) winged flood bar.
